The Chicago Bulls have reached out through their charitable arm (CharitaBulls) to the Chicago Debate League to encourage CDL debaters to take part in their 2011 MVP Essay Contest, being conducted as part of the Bulls’ recognition of Black History Month.
Details are contained in the contest flier.
There will be 25 winners. They will be invited to a celebration at the top of the Willis Tower at which food and small prizes will be bestowed. Bulls players will be in attendance.
The essay-application must be received (not post-marked) by February 4th by the CharitaBulls. There’s not a whole lot to the application — it doesn’t appear as though it would take long to complete. It’s also contained in the contest flier.
To be eligible, students must be:
* African-American males in grades 10, 11, or 12
* Carrying a 2.5 or higher GPA
* Demonstrated leaders in their community
* Significantly involved in an after-school program
