MS T4 Announcements and Reminders for Saturday
Coaches,
We’re looking forward to our most prestigious, exciting event of the year, the Chicago Middle School Debate Championship, at Lindblom Math and Science Academy, which is at 6130 S. Wolcott Ave.
Please review and follow the T4 Schedule for Saturday.
All coaches and support coaches should check the latest MS T4 official registration update, check with their students and judges and let me know of any changes as soon as you know of them.
Please confirm with students and judges and note that all changes (as of now) should be called/texted in to David at 8 4 7 -9 5 1- 9 6 6 2 as soon as you know of them (before you get on the bus and leave in the morning on Saturday).
Morning changes and registration: Tomorrow morning, breakfast and registration begins at 7:45 am. Please note the time. Call/text me with any changes and check in by 7:50 am at the latest or your team will be left off the pairing and forfeited. Do not plan to arrive at 8:15 am after registration and breakfast are over. Please make sure you call any changes as soon as you know of them.
All judges should plan to arrive on time and be available for the judging workshop.
Forfeit policy: Our tournaments run on-time. We respect your time and value the contribution you make to the experience of students from your school and all the others that are a part of the league, it is a professional expectation that coaches ensure their students and judges arrive on time and are ready to debate at scheduled times. Those who are late for debates or have unannounced changes are asking for exceptions that would delay the tournament for everyone else’s students, which we can’t allow. Forfeits will occur 15 minutes after the start of each announced round. Round 1 starts at 9:00 am sharp and forfeits are at 9:15 am. Losing your first debate of the day at the most important tournament of the year due to tardiness is not the way to go.
Travel plans: We know there’s a forecast of some possible rain this weekend, but everyone’s used to Chicago in March by now and weather will NOT be an excuse or a reason not to be forfeited. Please check/confirm with all students and judges that they are arriving on time and leave extra time for your vehicle or for the bus.
We look forward to an enjoyable and competitive Chicago Middle School Debate Championship and to seeing the best that our middle schools have to offer.
See you Saturday morning. Best – David
