2011 NAUDL Nationals Results

The two Chicago teams had a great showing at the 2011 NAUDL Urban Debate National Championship in NYC this past weekend. Though Chicago did not win its 7th straight national title, both teams advanced to the semi-final round. Whitney Young (Marcel Roman and Sydney Doe) lost to Metro Corporate (New York UDL), and Lane Tech (Josh Rivera and Owen Jones) lost to University (New Jersey UDL). Chicago was the only UDL to have two teams in the semi-finals. University (NJ) won the 2011 NAUDL National Championship.

Josh was 1st speaker, Marcel 2nd speaker, Owen 9th speaker, and Sydney 14th speaker. All four were absolutely wonderful representatives of the Chicago Debate League — smart, competitive, amiable, respectful, charismatic. We got lots and lots of deserved praise for the students.
