Student Seminar on Saturday, 10/29
There will be a special Student Seminar on Saturday, October 29th, from 9am – 11am, at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, 25 E. Pearson St., Room 203.
Registration is required. Coaches please send the names of your students who are committed to attend, by the deadline: Thursday, October 28th, 3pm, to cdc@resources.chicagodebates.org.
This special seminar is part of a several-seminar sequence being taught to students of the CDL by former debaters attending the University of Chicago, and led by former New Trier National Circuit debater, and U. of C. senior, Vanessa Bernick.
The seminar on 10/29 will be an interactive workshop, led by several U. of C. debaters, and will focus on CDL Debater Development Benchmarks 1 (Debate Round Mechanics), 7 (Flowing), and 11 (Speaking Skills).
Coaches can attend too, and receive CDL Professional Development credit.
It promises to be a special event, one well worth your efforts to get your first-year (even totally brand-new debaters, for whom T2 will be their first tournament) or lesser-experienced second-year debaters to attend.
If you bring your students to this event, parking is $10 at selected lots near the Loyola Law School, with validation in the lobby of 25 E. Pearson St. If they are coming by themselves, the Loyola Law School is just a couple minutes’ walk from the Chicago exit on the CTA Red Line.
