PD Update

We’ve updated the 2011/12 CDL Professional Development Reporting Notebook.

And posted the prepared case flows and off-case flows used at last Saturday’s Coach Training Seminar. These are prepared flows that model how case and off-case arguments from the Core Files can get debated out, through the rebuttals. You can prepare your own flows on any CF or non-CF issue, as an instructional instrument, reviewing the arguments in each speech with your debaters.

What these prepared flows demonstrate is the extent to which rebuttal speeches are filled with refutation first, extension next, and critical thinking about evidence text — what evidence actually says, what its warrants are, what its flaws are, and what its credibility is.
