The Chicago Debate League has a Coach Training Seminar this Saturday, January 7th, from 9am – 12pm, at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, 25 E. Pearson St. (as indicated on the Events page of the CDL programming site).
This seminar will feature a demonstration debate to be critiqued and evaluated collectively, using the Debater Development Benchmarks, which are designed to help our League increase the qualitative rigor and educational value of our students academic debating.
Registration is required — please send an email by the end of the day Thursday, January 5th, to email@example.com.
The seminar will be of value to coaches in their first through their third (maybe fourth) year of coaching — if we get a few veteran coaches interested we will offer a second option for them (at the same time and location, different room).
It will offer three hours of CDL Professional Development credit (toward the 20 hour yearly standard and the Allstate Professional Development Incentive) along with CPDUs.
