Allstate Coaching and Expanding Opportunities Incentives, Post-T5
In January we announced the current slate of second-semester CDL coach incentives. Following Tournament Five, here is an update on three of the Allstate incentives offerings.
(i) Allstate Incentives for Increasing Debate Participation
For the second semester, these are given to schools for increasing their total debate tournament participation this season over last season’s total (T1-T6), $100 for every 12 more tournament debaters this season over last season.
After Tournament Five, we have schools that have earned these Allstate incentives — and of course are poised to continue to earn more at T6 as they rack up tournament debaters over their totals last season. Here are the incentives we’re issuing after T5, followed by a parenthetical total the school has earned for this incentive over the course of the season (i.e., adding the post-T5 incentive to the T1-T4 incentives already earned in this category).
Amundsen — $100 ($300 total)
Austin — $100 ($500 total)
Brooks — $200 ($350)
Champaign Central — $50 ($200 total)

(ii) Allstate Incentives for Debate Participation Performance
At the end of the season, the top 10 schools in participation overall for the season (T1 – T6) will receive a $350 incentive, while schools 11 – 20 in participation overall will receive $150.
Here are our top 20 schools so far, after T5.
(iii) Allstate Expanding Opportunities Incentives
The Allstate Expanding Opportunities Initiative schools (those CDL schools with a 90% or higher Title I percentage) can earn incentives at the end of this semester in two categories.
(a) Participation Numbers Overall
The top five schools through T6 will earn $500 in incentives, 6th – 10th place schools will earn $250.
After T5 here are our leaders.
(b) Participation Change in the Second Semester
This metric compares the level of debater participation at tournaments 4 – 6 this season to the level of debater participation at tournaments 1 -3 this season — so a kind of “top-improving schools this season” measurement.
The top five schools on this metric through T6 earn $500 in coach incentives.
After T5 here are our leaders.
The full reporting on where each Expanding Opportunities school is positioned after T5 relative to these incentives is in the Allstate Expanding Opportunities Tracking Form.
