MLK Day Event — 01/19/14

Zane Clarke Waxman, Northwestern University graduate and former debater, and external coach at North Lawndale College Prep, wishes to make the CDL aware of a student activist event in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday: Sunday, January 19th, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 8235 S. South Shore Dr.

“Dear coaches and students of the Chicago Debate League. If you are interested in translating your team’s political knowledge into civic engagement there is a great event for students and coaches alike coming up on Sunday January 19! Iron Student Network (ISN) is hosting an event to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and they have invited students from the CDL to attend the meeting (the info is below). The event gives CDL students a great opportunity to learn about how to get involved in local politics and will also put students in contact with college students from around the Chicago area. We would love for you to come on by, or, at the least, let your students know about the event and encourage them to attend!
