CMSDL Coach Training Seminar VIII — Saturday, 2/8, 12:30pm – 3:30pm

The Chicago Middle School Debate League has its eighth and final (regularly-scheduled) coach training seminar of the 2013/14 season — Coach Training Seminar VIII — on Saturday, 2/8, 12:30pm – 3:30pm, at the Loyola Law School, 25 E. Pearson St.

This seminar will equip all participating coaches to use the Prepared Flow Exercise at debate practices to prepare your students for successful tournament competition, to teach them to give better rebuttals, and to help you and your students get the most educational value out of competitive debate. This exercise focuses like a laser on the “post-scripted” speeches in CMSDL tournament debating — what the debaters should be doing when they no longer have anything in the files to read — i.e., the most important part of the debate.

Parking at lots near the Loyola Law School is $10, with validation from the lobby of the law school building (the Philip H. Corboy Center, 25 E. Pearson St.). The Loyola Law School is also right off of the Chicago stop on the CTA red line.

Registration is required. Register by the end of the day Thursday, 2/6 by sending an email to register@resources.chicagodebates.org.

Attendees will earn three hours of professional development credit within the CMSDL system, and three hours of CPDUs.
