Listed below are the Chicago Debate League’s representatives at the Urban Debate National Championship from 2001 through the present. The J.B. Fuqua Urban Debate National Celebration was a gathering of the best Novice teams from each UDL (until its last year, when Varsity debaters competed), and it was held every other year from 2001 – 2007. In 2008, the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues began holding its annual National Championship tournament.

Lane Tech H.S. (Joey Peculis and Owen Jones) — Advanced to the Quarter-Finals of the 2012 National Association for Urban Debate Leagues National Championship

2011 (New York City, NY)

Whitney Young Magnet H.S. (Marcel Roman and Sydney Doe) — Advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 2011 National Association for Urban Debate Leagues National Championship

Lane Tech H.S. (Josh Rivera and Owen Jones) — Advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 2011 National Association for Urban Debate Leagues National Championship

2010 (New York City, NY)

Whitney Young Magnet H.S. (Kevin Hirn and Misael Gonzalez) — Won the 2010 Chase Urban Debate National Championship

Lane Tech H.S. (Carl Jiang and Chimene Okere) — Advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 2010 Chase Urban Debate National Championship

Walter Payton College Prep (Halle Apy and Jeremiah Pickert) — Won the 2009 Chase Urban Debate National Championship

Whitney Young Magnet H.S. (Kevin Hirn and Misael Gonzalez) — Advanced to the Final Round of the 2009 Chase Urban Debate National Championship
