The CDC welcomed our new intern, Desiree Weber, in late March. Ms. Weber has served as a CDL tournament administrator for the past 3 years, while working toward her Ph.D. in political science at Northwestern University. She undertook this project through Northwestern’s Graduate Engagement Opportunities program, which supports graduate students in quarter-long internships with community organizations. Ms. Weber, a former high school and college debater, served for five years as head debate coach at a Minneapolis high school, and has experience working with an urban education nonprofit. During her internship, Ms. Weber will be involved in compiling student survey results, creating coach surveys, working on the CDC’s qualitative assessment program, and helping with outreach to colleges and universities. Ms. Weber will be with us through early June.
